Bananas walk off Blowfish in extras

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Cade Marlowe didn't hit it very hard, but it did the job.

Tied at 8 in the 10th with runners on first and third and one out, Marlowe's grounder to short wasn't able to be converted into an inning-ending double play and Trenton Nash's belly flop slide into home gave the Bananas a 9-8 walk-off win over Lexington County.

It's the fifth win in a row for Savannah, who remains atop the Coastal Plain League's South Division.

The Bananas trailed 4-1 after four, but rallied for five runs to take a 6-4 lead. Justin Dirden's two-RBI triple into right center gave the Bananas the lead.

Savannah travels to Florence Friday night before returning to Grayson Stadium for a rematch with Lexington County.
