BULLOCH CO., GA (WTOC) - Two people are behind bars in Bulloch County in connection to a series of car break-ins and related crimes happening in Bulloch County since May 31 or earlier.
Bulloch County investigators say just before 4:30 Tuesday morning, an off-duty officer intervened in an entering auto attempt in progress in the Glen Oaks Neighborhood. Other deputies were notified and responded to the area attempting to find the suspects. One of them, Jaleon Harden, was arrested in the Glen Oaks Subdivision. Investigators say a second suspect, Artavious Thomas, stole a local resident's vehicle and sped off. He was quickly found by deputies on Highway 80 West and crashed the stolen vehicle after a short pursuit. He was immediately taken into custody.
Investigators are actively seeking a third suspect who is thought to have gotten away on foot. Both Harden and Thomas have been charged with multiple entering autos, weapons charges, and criminal gang activity. Thomas was also charged with theft of a motor vehicle. In addition to these arrests, Mikaya O'Neal was also charged with theft by receiving stolen property.
Additional charges will be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
