Georgia State Patrol: 2 men killed in wreck on I-95

CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - #UPDATE: Georgia State Patrol has confirmed that two men have died in a single-vehicle wreck on Interstate 95.

According to an official, a Dodge pickup was traveling north around 3:00 p.m. on June 13th. The pickup traveled onto the east shoulder for an unknown reason and began to rotate.

The truck continued traveling and struck an overhead traffic sign support pole with its right side.  After impact, the pickup rotated around the support pole and came to an uncontrolled final stop on the north side of the support pole facing east.  The truck then hit a pole holding the I-16 "One Mile Ahead" sign.

The driver, 28-year-old Matthew Zeeb, and passenger, 27-year-old Ashton Frierson, were both fatally injured.

The GSP trooper did not say weather was a factor.

Traffic is slowed on I-95 near I-16 after what appears to be a rollover wreck, Wednesday afternoon.

A WTOC crew headed to the scene says traffic is backed up all the way from 204.
