SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Savannah's veteran-owned Nine Line Apparel and Northwest Exterminating Company partnered to show appreciation to first responders in the Savannah community on Thursday.
The businesses joined forces to host a barbecue for police officers, firefighters, and EMTs at Nine Line's facility on Fort Argyle Road. In addition to delicious food, Nine Line offered 25 percent off in their storefront to first responders.
"You know, many times, officers are in an enforcement mode, so we don't always get the appreciation we see at events like this. When this happens, it's a good reminder to officers that people we don't always come in contact with everyday really do appreciate what we do everyday we come to our job," said Lt. Hiram Rivera, Savannah Police Department.
Nine Line also sold their fundraising design 'Savannah PD" on Thursday. Proceeds from the sale of the design will go to the families of the two officers the department lost last month - Officer Christie and Officer Joey Lupus.
