SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Road work scheduled for Wednesday, June 20 is expected to cause delays on U.S. Highway 80 to Tybee Island.
There were lane closures Tuesday on 80 just east of the Lazaretto Creek Bridge. The closures lasted from about 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
The Georgia Department of Transportation says crews were working to repair a pipe under the roadway. The work is expected to continue on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and drivers can expect more lane closures and delays if they plan on heading to or from Tybee Island.
