SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Let's go back to the golden years of Armstrong.
That's what the faculty, staff and families of that period did Monday as the Armstrong Alumni Association celebrated the Golden Graduates of the college.
From 1937 to 1965, Armstrong was still a downtown college and not yet part of Georgia Southern University. People from that era say it's a good way to catch up with old friends.
"Today's luncheon, as I see it, is trying to get some of us old-timers who went to the campus, the downtown campus together and there's not that many of us left," said Anne Lore, an Armstrong graduate from the Golden Years.
Guest speaker Richard Kessler spoke about his plans to renovate the iconic Armstrong mansion. Kessler currently owns the property and is restoring it as a private residence.
