SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Savannah Police are investigating a vehicle theft that took place earlier this month at an auto repair shop on Mall Boulevard.

Officers responded to Rincon Transmission around 4:30 p.m. on June 11 for reports that a vehicle being repaired had been stolen. Employees say the tan 2003 Chevrolet Impala had been in the lot with the keys in the ignition.

Police say the damaged vehicle was recovered four days later on Crane Street.

Detectives have a suspect captured on the auto shop's surveillance footage, but they need the public's help identifying him. He's described as a black male, around 20-years-old, with a short afro-style haircut.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Southside Precinct detectives at 912.351.3403. Information can also be forwarded to CrimeStoppers at 912.234.2020.
