CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

All eastbound lanes of Interstate 16 are back open between Interstate 95 and Chatham Parkway.

The Savannah Police Department's Traffic Unit helped close this portion of the interstate between 2:45 a.m. to 4 a.m. so that Georgia State Patrol could reconstruct the crash that killed Savannah Police Officer Anthony Christie in May. Christie was responding to a crash on I-16 near Dean Forest Road when another vehicle hit his cruiser.

Investigators are still trying to find out why a semi-truck plowed into his vehicle, and hope this reconstruction will provide more details.

All lanes re-opened around 3:55 a.m.
