Economic Development Commissioner Addresses Business Leaders

A very important luncheon was held at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center this afternoon. The commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Craig Lesser, spoke to both big and small business leaders in Savannah about how our area is doing in terms of economic development.

And we have some good news. He says the partnerships and teamwork Savannah provides with the state and other local departments gives a very bright outlook for the rest of 2005 and 2006.

"Savannah has great tourism opportunities, Savannah has great education opportunities, a great workforce, great location," Commissioner Lesser said. "They are doing everything to help meet our state objective."

In fact, next week, the governor will be in Savannah to announce another new business that will be opening its doors here in the Coastal Empire.
