Interstate 95 crash causes 40k pound coffee bean spill

RIDGELAND, SC (WTOC) - The Ridgeland Fire Department, along with Jasper County Fire-Rescue, responded early Tuesday morning to a crash on northbound Interstate 95.

Ridgeland firefighters said the crash involved 2 tractor trailer trucks and resulted in a spill of approximately 40,000 pounds of coffee beans from one of the trucks. The spill affected about one-quarter mile of the interstate.

The northbound lanes of Interstate 95 were completely closed for approximately 2 hours while crews cleared the roadway. No injuries were reported.
