Pooler Parkway to be closed hours Friday to reconstruct wreck that claimed 2 lives

POOLER, GA (WTOC) - Two people were killed in a wreck in front of the Lowe's in Pooler on Tuesday afternoon.

State Troopers will close the northbound lane of Pooler Parkway between Pine Barren Road and Lowe's from 8 a.m. noon Friday in order to reconstruct the accident scene.

Detours will be in place and officers will direct traffic as needed.

The wreck occurred just before 4 p.m. on Pooler Parkway.

Peggy Padgett, 59, from Guyton and Sherry Ward, 71, from Pooler were killed. According to Georgia State Patrol, the at-fault driver has been identified as Andrew Bowens, 37, of Clyo.

Troopers will pull information from Bowen's car tomorrow to figure out speed and other factors.

Bowens is still in the hospital. Charges are pending at this time.
