WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) -

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating a shooting in Walterboro that sent one person to the hospital Wednesday.

The shooting was reported at Tommie's Auto and Diesel Towing and Repair, the Colleton County Sheriff's Office confirmed Wednesday afternoon.

SLED spokesman Thom Berry said the initial investigation indicates a dispute with a customer over a bill ended in a confrontation.

The shooting victim was taken to Trident Medical Center. The victim's condition was not immediately known.

SLED agents are questioning people involved in the argument, Berry said.

Earlier, Berry confirmed one person had been detained for questioning until SLED agents could get to the scene.

A witness reported the area had been cordoned off and said there was a large law enforcement presence in the area. Crime scene investigators were seen processing evidence at the scene.

No arrests have been made as yet, Berry said.
