SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A block party this Thursday will celebrate the one year anniversary of the Savannah LGBT Center.
The center, located on Bull Street, initially offered meeting space for support groups, an art gallery, and office space for local LGBT partnering charities. Services have since expanded to include mental health counseling, HIV testing, and a near mighty array of meetings and events.
"It's great to have a safe space that they can come to, that they can be themselves, that they can network with other individuals in the community," said Billy Wooten, Chair, Savannah LGBT Center Committee.
The block party will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. It's free and open to the public. It will include live music. Food and alcohol will be available for purchase.
