The Savannah Bananas returned from the CPL All-Star Break in the same form they had the first half of the season: selling out games and beating the Macon Bacon.
The team sold out it's 50th consecutive game Wednesday night, and the huge crowd saw the Bananas top their arch rival, 9-5.
Savannah's 3-4-5 hitters drove in a combined six runs, and starter Brayden Belden grinded through 5.2 innings to put the team in a spot to win. Cade Marlowe, Jake Sullivan, and Hunter Wilson each delivered two RBI for the Bananas Wednesday, while Belden struck out five, scattered seven hits, and allowed just one run.
The Bananas created some separation between the two with six runs between the 5th and 7th innings, then held off a late Bacon rally to earn their 22nd win of the year.
Savannah heads to Florence Thursday night before returning to Grayson Stadium Friday for a contest with Lexington County.
