LIBERTY CO., GA (WTOC) - Healthcare just moved closer to many in Liberty County along the coast.
The county's Liberty Regional Medical Center officially opened its Midway campus Tuesday morning.
Hospital administrators and county leaders said the expansion has been in the works for a decade.
It offers basic medical services to an area growing with people living and working in nearby industries.
"We hope to eventually rotate specialists through this clinic as well. That could include cardiology, general surgery, orthopedics. That's one of our goals - bring specialists out to the people here," Liberty Regional CEO Mike Hester said
Construction started eight months ago.
They hope to offer medical service to people in nearby McIntosh and Bryan counties, too.
