Good News: Historic Savannah Foundation photo contest winners announced

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - What is your favorite building in Savannah? That's what the Historic Savannah Foundation asked as the theme of its July "Summer Photo Contest."

They received dozens of answers in the form of pictures from both locals and visitors.

The foundation announced the contest winners on Friday with first place going to Yanitza Ninett for her photo depicting peaceful streets and beautiful colors. Terri Tattan took second place and Garrett Odenwelder was third.

All of the winners will have their photos displayed on the welcome screen at the Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport. They will also be included in the HSF's annual report.

"The photo contest is essential to the HSF mission, which is saving places that define Savannah," said Chassidy Malloy, HSF Membership and Volunteer Coordinator. "That includes stories and it includes buildings as well, so the photos definitely reflected all of that and really ultimately bring awareness to what makes Savannah so unique."

HSF received more than 200 entries - many of which can be viewed on the foundation's website.
