If you play Power Ball, your chances may not be all that great, but the jackpot is estimated pretty high for Saturday's drawing. Since none of tickets sold for last night's drawing matched all six numbers, the jackpot is estimated at $290 million.
Now lotto players are taking their chances. "It's worth a try," said Chad Bernet. "You never know."
"If I hit it, if I don't, I don't," said Eddie Green. "I'm just trying it out."
Although the odds of winning of course are pretty slim, lotto players say you can't win if you don't play. Green says those odds could be in his favor, and that's what he's banking on. "This is the winning ticket right here," he said. "So you all don't have to buy any more tickets today."
But of course, with the jackpot this high, thousands of people are willing to take their chances...on a chance to make their dreams come true.
"First of all, I would go to the church and donate some money, second of all, I would get my kids and I would think about it for a while," said Green. "After that, I don't know."
"I would probably give some to charity, buy a new car, house, take a nice cruise," said Bernet.
And since the winning ticket could make all those dreams come true, many local dealers say they anticipate big crowds up until Saturday's drawing.
"Saturday and Sunday, tons of people," said Shanna Knight, the manager at the Lady's Island Citgo. "Lines for the lotto, definitely."
In fact, she says Wednesday's drawing drew crowds. "Loads of people came in and shared what they would do. So I always make sure they know if they win, they'll share with me."
With Power Ball this high, many Georgia residents are of course crossing the state line into South Carolina to pick up their tickets. Georgia is not one of the Power Ball states.
