Donations Sought for Mayor's Motorcade

It's never too early to start making the holidays special for those less fortunate. Each year in Savannah the Mayor's Motorcade delivers presents to patients and families at Georgia Regional Hospital. Those presents are provided with donations from the community, and if you want to donate now is the time.

They're looking for everything from makeup to cookies to clothes. And the products must be new and unwrapped.

Mayor Otis Johnson says this little gift brings a lot of joy. "A lot of these people don't have supportive families and we know they are already experiencing challenges," he said. "We know the holidays can also bring depression, so this is a a way to show we do care."

If you would like to make a donation, just stop by city hall on Bay Street. Donations must be received by December 9. The motorcade delivery is on the 14th.
