Sheriff's deputies in Bulloch County are investigating the mysterious deaths of a couple found in their home. GBI agents are also coming through the home, looking for any and every clue that can point them toward the killer.
Patrol cars blocked the street as investigators swarmed the house on Jack Newton Road. The owners, Jack and Paula Futch, were found dead early this morning.
"The only thing I can say right now is we received a call through 911," said Sheriff Lynn Anderson. "Probably between six and six-thirty this morning. From the residence."
Low officers spent the day combing the home. Forensics teams looked for anything that would reveal who had killed them.
One thing investigators did not find at the home was the couple's van. It showed up on Groveland Road near the Bulloch-Evans line later in the morning.
Investigators are trying to figure out if robbery was the motive or if the van was taken out of convenience.
"At this point, we are working what appears to be a double homicide, a home invasion," Sheriff Anderson said, adding he could not tell us anything about a cause of death at this time.
With so many questions still unanswered, investigators may not find out who until they find out why.
Sheriff Anderson says they interviewed several people during the day, but would not identify them.
