This week will see the departure of 150 Third Infantry Division soldiers heading to Iraq to help train Iraqi security forces. The 549th Military Police Company will leave tonight for a third deployment to Iraq, but this mission's different from their previous two.
Soldiers say they've got a tough job getting Iraqi security up to standard, but it's one of the most important missions over there right now. "In training Iraqi forces, the sooner we get them trained, the sooner everyone can come home, and that's what we all want," said 2nd Lt. Graham Erickson. "So absolutely, that's a good motivation for us."
More than 50 of those deploying today are combat veterans of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
