The fight isn't over just yet for a Savannah area animal rescue. Savannah city zoning officials say Terry Wolf and her Southern Comfort Animal Rescue have missed two court hearings and have not complied with city codes.
Last month, Wolf was cited after a neighbor complained about the number of dogs she was caring for at her Habersham Street home, which doubled as a licensed animal rescue. The limit is three dogs, and while Wolf tried to find homes for the animals, city zoning director Tom Todaro says she still has too many dogs.
"We're trying to work with her," Todaro told us. "The courts trying to work with her. For whatever reason, she is ignoring requests to comply."
Wolf has been unavailable for comment. Todaro says a subpoena could be issued later this week. Wolf would then have to appear in Recorders Court after the first of the year.
