Traffic in Savannah is bad enough with the holidays approaching, but it's been a real hassle his week at DeRenne and Montgomery.
Here's the reason for the holdup. The far right lane on the eastbound side had to be closed so crews could repair a broken water main. The water main was fixed quickly, but the rupture washed out a lot of the dirt under the road, forcing crews to replace it with a special liquid filler that takes about 24 hours to harden.
Tonight, those 24 hours have come and gone and that section of DeRenne is construction cone free.
