Hospice Presents Gift Cards to Evacuee Family

An agency that helps people in need all year long is helping a family who lost their home during Hurricane Katrina for the holidays. Hospice Savannah presented Diane Hayes with three Visa gift cards.

A Hospice employee saw Diane's story on WTOC (Community Support Helps Evacuee with Special Needs). Diane, her two year-old-son Keon and Kiera, her three-year-old daughter with special needs, came to live with her mother in Savannah after the hurricane destroyed their home in Biloxi, Mississippi.

She says she's overwhelmed by the help she's found in Savannah. "Overjoyed. I'm thankful. I'm blessed and I really appreciate everyone who has helped us this Christmas season, to help make it a merry, merry Christmas for me and the kids."

Diane just received more good news. Her husband, who's serving in the Air Force in Korea, is now scheduled to come home in March.
