HOPE Scholarship Changes Could Affect Class Choices

Starting next spring, Georgia students may be steering clear of honors classes. Extra points that had been added to grades made in honors classes will not be counted when deciding who gets the HOPE scholarship.

For some, this means taking honors classes could drop their GPAs below the required 3.0.

Officials hope the change will make scholarship requirements more consistent throughout the state.
