Traffic was backed up this morning in Port Wentworth after a Maxim crane knocked down an overhead power line just before 8am. It happened on Grange Road between Highway 21 and Highway 25.
Telephone, cable and internet lines were knocked out for hours while crews repaired the line.
Until the power line was off the road, police wouldn't let anyone on Grange Road. Traffic was backed up for miles in both directions on Highway 21.
Many tractor-trailers use that road to get to Georgia Ports Authority or container warehouses.
