Soldier Seriously Injured in Motorcycle Wreck

A soldier stationed at Hunter Army Airfield is in the hospital after a motorcycle accident. Police say about 5:30pm yesterday afternoon, 27-year-old Anthony Robinson was driving north and getting off the Talmadge Bridge onto Hutchinson Island when he lost control of the motorcycle as he rounded the curve.

He was thrown off and into the guardrail. The bike wound up in the marsh. Robinson was taken to Memorial Health with serious injuries.

Police say, although Robinson was wearing a helmet, speed was factor in the accident.

Traffic investigators had to close down the Hutchinson Island-bound lane while they took measurements and collected evidence.
