Mary Jean King Mary Jean King

The woman charged with the beating death of her adopted son was denied bond at a hearing Tuesday morning in Alma. Mary Jean King appeared briefly before a judge as her attorney asked for her to be released on bond. During the proceedings, King took the stand and said she didn't remember killing her son, three-year-old Ahmad King.

On Monday, king was indicted on two counts of felony murder and one count of cruelty to children. She was also indicted for cruelty to children for beating a two-year-old foster child in her care.

On January 24, King reported her adopted son had been abducted from the Wal-Mart parking lot in Jesup. She confessed to killing the little boy and authorities found his body three days later.
