Winter Weather Strands Travellers on the Road and In the Air

A record breaking winter storm is sweeping across the northeast and stranding travellers on the roads and in the air. Airlines have cancelled hundreds of flights and passengers are feeling the effects right here in Savannah.

Passengers like Glenda Clapham waited most of Sunday for her flight to arrive, but according to the schedule, it could be hours before her connecting flight out of Washington, D.C. is able to depart.

Like many passengers, Glenda did come prepared to wait, "I've got a couple of books and some schedules to keep me occupied."

Linden Accurso was heading to Washington, D.C. and lucky for him, his flight left on time. Accurso says he's glad he came to the airport early. He'd been trying to call the airport for hours and the phones had been tied up.

Continental passenger, David Kinard, wasn't so lucky. His flight was delayed until Monday morning.

Despite the delays, several people agreed that it wasn't a bad thing to be stuck in the sunny south.

David Kinard agreed, saying "I've got a car a Newark Airport which is probably under three feet of snow. Getting my car is my next adventure."
