One man is in the hospital after being shot by a Savannah-Chatham police officer. Shortly after 4am this morning, Officer Clifford Huggins and a partner were following a suspicious vehicle near Montgomery Street. According to police, the suspect, 25-year-old Jerome Hill, got out of his vehicle and pointed a gun at the officers.
Officials say Officer Huggins fired two shots in self-defense, hitting Hill at least once.
