Senator Proposes Ban on Marijuana-Flavored Candy

Georgia lawmakers are speaking out today against what they say is an inappropriate product for children. They look innocent enough, but they're actually marijuana-flavored lollipops. They aren't harmful and don't contain any illegal substances, but lawmakers say they are a gateway to drug use.

"Children should not be able to walk in to a convenience store and buy potato chips and a soft drink and a piece of dope candy," said Sen. Vincent Fort (D-Atlanta).

If the proposed bill is passed, it would ban the sale of the so-called dope candy in Georgia. Three other states are considering similar restrictions.
