Community Invited to Crime Forum

Tonight, you can hear from one of the top crime experts in the country in Savannah. Retired Charleston, South Carolina, police chief Reuben Greenberg will speak at a community public forum on crime tonight at the Savannah Civic Center.

Greenberg is also a former Savannah police major.

City and county leaders are working with US Rep. Jack Kingston and local crime-fighting groups to bring him here.

"It shows everyone is working as a team and the safety of our citizens is the most important thing," said Chatham County chairman Pete Liakakis. "The protection of life and property is the number one priority of any governmental entity and from this, working together, we're going to see better results and help reduce this situation in the crime area dramatically in the not too distant future."

The forum is tonight from 5pm to 6pm in the Savannah Civic Center Ballroom. It's open to the public.
