"Pot of Gold" Awards for Volunteers

Dozens of people received a "pot of gold" yesterday morning at Hunter Army Airfield. Not a real pot of gold, but something just as rewarding: the Pot of Gold award. The ceremony recognized the volunteers who gave up their time to pitch in and help out whenever they were needed.

Those who were honored received a Pot of Gold award and were personally thanked by Gen. Mark O'Neill.

Volunteers say they were happy to be a part of Hunter Army Airfield. "It's giving example to my children," said volunteer Jeanine Stidley. "And then another reason, my husband is gone a good percent of the time, and there are so many things you can get involved in to pass the time and keep you going."

Hunter Army Airfield hosts this event every three months.
