SSU Hosts Traveling Museum

Savannah State University is hosting the Sankofa African American Museum on Wheels. The museum is considered one of the foremost collections of black history available, with everything from the civil rights movement and African American inventors to Negro League baseball.

The curator, Angela Jennings, says they started the museum to help teach kids about their past. "I had an honor student nephew who didn't know much about his history and culture and I wanted him to learn," she said. "I wanted to stimulate other young blacks to learn about history and culture."

If you missed it today, the museum will be at Savannah State again tomorrow. The exhibit runs from 9am to 4pm, and admission is free.
