Firefighters, Little Red Dog Foundation Donate Bikes to Kids

Some Low Country firefighters are pitching in for a good cause. Lady's Island-St. Helena Fire Rescue partnered with the Little Red Dog Foundation to help give bikes to children and adults with physical disabilities who couldn't afford them.

The foundation raised the money for the three-wheeled cycles and the firefighters helped assemble them. Both are hoping the bikes will help lift the spirits of these special children.

"They would otherwise not be able to play with the other children and ride a bicycle," said foundation organizer Anne Guthrie. "These cycles are made for almost every kind of disability. A child with cerebral palsy can ride these cycles, children with Down's syndrome, autism."

So far, the Little Red Dog Foundation has been able to raise money to buy six bikes and they're hoping this is just the beginning. If you'd like to help, you can donate to:
