Public Assistance Sought in Identifying Rapist

The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department has issued the following:

SCMPD Special Victims Unit detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the attacker of a 16-year-old in an eastside public housing complex. The assault occurred on March 15, 2006. With the assistance of a Georgia Bureau of Investigations forensic artist, a sketch of the suspect has been developed.

The suspect is described as a black male in his mid to late 30s with a medium to dark complexion. He is reported to be 5`8” tall, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a blue “track suit” and dark blue hat. He was also reported to be armed with a weapon at the time of the assault.

Anyone with any information on the identity of the individual depicted in this sketch is urged to contact the Special Victims Unit at 651.6742 or CrimeStoppers at 234.2020. A reward of up to $2500 is offered by Crimestoppers for information leading to an arrest in this case.
