Breast Cancer Activist Honored

Sarah Copeland was honored with the Yoplait Yogurt National Breast Cancer Champion award for her efforts to spread the word about breast cancer at Savannah's Jazz'd tapas bar.

"I'm trying to inspire people to keep the door of communication open, and often when someone is battling breast cancer or any other cancer, it's hard to know what to say," said Copeland. "And we are there to keep the door open, so people can communicate."

Several years ago, Copeland's aunt battled breast cancer, so she dyed her hair pink to remind people of the struggle. Beside last night's recognition, Yoplait donated $1,000 to Copeland's nonprofit organization, LibLines. And they'll feature her in several magazines this month.
