The driver of a motorcycle and his female passenger had to be taken to the hospital after hitting an SUV. Savannah-Chatham police tell us about 10:30pm last night, the driver of an SUV turned in front of a motorcycle on Montgomery Cross Road at Atwood. The driver of the bike couldn't stop in time and slammed into the back of the SUV, throwing him and his passenger off.

They were both rushed to Memorial Health for treatment. Officers say the driver is suffering very serious injuries. The driver of the SUV kept going, but finally stopped about a block away.

Officers did recover beer bottles from the vehicle. Charges are pending.
