Georgia's voter ID law is in the spotlight again. This time former Democratic governor Roy Barnes is filing a class-action lawsuit on behalf of all voters without photo IDs.
Barnes says the Republican-backed law is a blatant attempt to curb minority voting.
In January, the Republican-led legislature amended the law to provide free photo IDs to any Georgian who needs one. Gov. Perdue signed the legislation and it is now awaiting approval by the US Department of Justice before it can be enacted.
