Savannah Chatham Metropolitan police want your help finding the driver who hit a man on a bicycle early Sunday morning. Police say two people in a Jeep Cherokee struck a man riding his bicycle on the Islands Expressway near Riverview Road. A newspaper courier found the man lying in the road around 5:00 Sunday morning and called for help.
The victim has been identified as 26 year old Patrick Bailey from Wilmington, North Carolina. He is in serious but stable condition at Memorial Health University.
Police are looking for a 1990s model gold or champagne colored Jeep Cherokee with matching rims. Detectives say the car will have right front end damage. A witness later reported seeing the Jeep at Chu's Market on Highway 80. It was last seen travelling east toward Tybee Island.
