An Army Ranger is spending a very special Father's Day with his family this year. Michael Grimm, a communications specialist with the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, stationed at Hunter Army Airfield, won a weekend stay at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort and Spa through the hotel's Military Appreciation Father's Day contest.

Specialist Grimm has deployed four times in the last three years for Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. He's not only a decorated soldier, his wife, Lauren, said he's a great father to his 20 month old daughter, Audrey. He even serves as "Mister Mom" while Lauren works nights.

Grimm said he was very surprised when he learned his wife entered him in the contest.

"My wife is so creative," he bragged. "To me, "go to a store, find her a nice gift and a nice card," but my wife is an "outside the box" thinker. When I found out about this, I was shocked, to say the least."

This is the first Father's Day Grimm has spent with Audrey and he plans to make the most of it.

"With everything going on in the world today, these moments mean so much more and you just try to make them last," Grimm explained. "You try to make them happy and you try to make it about family for as long as you can."

Grimm said he's also thinking about the mothers and fathers currently deployed in the military who cannot be with their loved ones right now. Last month, the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort and Spa honored, military mothers with a special military appreciation contest for Mother's Day.
