Another group of Beaufort Marines and sailors are on their way to Iraq. Close to 150 Marines  and sailors with Marine Wing Support Squadron 2-73 said goodbye to friends and family at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort before heading to Camp Al Asad, Iraq for a seven-month deployment.

This will be the unit's second deployment to Iraq since 2004, when they served in
Operation Iraqi Freedom. However, many groups within the unit have continued to deploy throughout the war on terrorism.

While many of Sweathogs say it's difficult leaving their families behind, they are proud to serve and do their part.

"Today is a hard day," said HM1 Michael Mann. "The first time I'm leaving my son for a long period of time, but I have a job to do. I fully, truly believe in this effort we're putting in over there."

Four hundred more Marines with this unit will be heading to Iraq next week.
