Things to remember during evacuation:
Returning home from evacuation:
GAS: If you smell gas or hear hissing, open window and exit building. Then turn gas off from main valve outside. Gas will need be restored by a professional.
ELECTRICITY: If you see sparks, or broken/frayed wires, switch off power at fuse box. Do not step in water to get to fuse box. Ensure outlets are free of water before using them.
WATER: If sewer line is damaged, do not drink running water or use toilets. If water is contaminated, drink from bottles or melted ice cubes. If uncertain, wait for official notification that drinking water is safe.
