Air Station, Parris Island to Showcase Marine Corps' Finest

The United States Marine Corps has released the following:

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION BEAUFORT, S.C. - Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort and Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island will host the Battle Color Detachment from Marine Barracks, Washington, D.C., in October. Both performances are open to the general public.

The Battle Color Detachment consists of the Marine Corps Color Guard, the Silent Drill Team and the United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps, also known as "The Commandant's Own."

The detachment will perform at the Air Station's parade deck in front of the headquarters building Oct. 17 at 5 p.m. and at the Peatross Parade Deck aboard Parris Island Oct. 18 at 10 a.m.

This special event displays the Marine Corps' finest in the areas of drill, color guards and music. Together, the Battle Color Detachment participates in approximately 400 events a year.
