One in three people in Beaufort County count on the United Way for help each year. But they need your help to make it happen.
The Boys and Girls Club in Beaufort is one of more than 30 United Way agencies that help deliver services to the community. The United Way needs $265 million to help support agencies like this one. Unfortunately, that may not be possible next year since they've only reached 71 percent of their goal.
"Without funding and support from the United Way, we would not be able to do a lot of things for the youth of Beaufort County," said Boys and Girls Club director Sam Burke. "Without these dollars, we would have to cut a number of our are programs."
The United Way is not giving up. They hope that the community will open its heart during this season of giving. They hope to reach the last 30 percent of their goal before Christmas.
