More Incentive to Shop on Black Friday

The biggest shopping days of the season is just days away and South Carolina is tempting shoppers with another incentive.

This Friday and Saturday, the Palmetto State is lifting its five percent sales tax on almost everything, from the new PlayStation 3 to clothing to computers.

Local retailers like Best Buy in Beaufort are gearing up for even bigger crowds than normal this holiday weekend.

"It's going to have an enticement for customers who sometimes don't want to put up with long lines and the hassle of coming out," said Best Buy general manager Rory Witten. "Now they'll be able to save tax free on their purchases with no cap on that. I think that will bring an extra drive, because it will give them more incentive beside the deals that happen on that day anyways."

This one-time sales tax holiday applies to all purchases except for accommodations and guest charges. The sales tax holiday kicks off Friday morning at 12:01am and will end Saturday at midnight.
