Savannah Country Day has suspended two students in connection with an explosive device found at the school over the weekend.
Savannah Country Day School officials believe a student brought the bomb to school and gave it to another student. School officials took the bomb and held it overnight before calling police on Saturday. The bomb squad went to the school and removed the bomb before anyone could get hurt.
"It contained explosives, BBs, gun powder, things of that nature," said the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department's Sgt. Mike Wilson. "It wouldn't have leveled the school, but certainly capable of inflicting danger or harm to the immediate vicinity."
The school suspended two 14-year-old boys and charges could be filed depending on what the investigation reveals.
