Savannah - On Saturday night in December the gym is the place to be as the area's best basketball teams hit the court.

Starting with the girl's side of the action Toombs County beat Claxton 48-43 in overtime. Whitney Furr had 16 points for Toombs. Ashley Kennedy had 18 points and 13 rebounds as well.

Pinewood Christian beat Flint River Academy 53-27. The Lady Patriots are now 9-0 on the year.

Beach Coach Ronald Booker and the Beach Lady Bulldogs took out Windsor Forest 59-46. Treutlen came up big against Dodge County beating them 59-55.

The Jenkins Lady Warriors rolled up 59 points on Wayne County to win it 59-20. Over at St Vincent s the Saints received 13 points from Maryanne Brown and 12 from Mallory Moran to beat Johnson 43-15.

Urban Christian topped Grace Baptist 67-31. Casandra Gordon put up 27 points and her teammate Haley Carter added 26.

On the guys side of the action the Cadets led at halftime but the Groves Rebels came back to win it in the end 56-43. Scott Reed had 13 points for the Rebels. The Cadets were led by Eric Kments with 11 points.

Beach beat Windsor Forest 59-34. Musa Abdullah dropped 19 points for the Bulldogs who are still perfect on the year at 9-0. Tony Scott had 11 points for the Knights.

Swainsboro rolled over ECI last night but came up short to Monroe tonight losing 62-57. Derrick Smith and Tony Mitchell each had 13 points in the losing effort for Swainsboro.

Toombs County beat Claxton 57-49. James Hawkins checked in with 16 points and 15 rebounds for Toombs.

The Pinewood boys made short work of Flint River Academy beating them 59-39. Chris McCorckle had 14 points for the Patriots. They improve to 5-0 on the year.

It took overtime but Brunswick ended up 2 better than MCA. Gerald Lott had 16 for the Pirates. Roman Button dropped 13 for the Bucs.

Urban Christian doubled up Forest Park Christian winning 90-45. Cashmere Wright scored 21 points.

Brantley County beat Savannah Christian 56-49. Wayne County beat Jenkins  57-42. Daniel Clements put up 23 points for the Yellow Jackets.
