If you are not already in the Christmas spirit, here's something that might help. Santa Claus made a surprise visit to the Georgia Air National Guard Base in Chatham County. Members of the 165th Airlift Wing brought their children to catch a glimpse of the man in the red suit.
165th Airlift Wing commander Col. Tom Moore said that today's surprise meant a lot, not only for the children but also for the Guardsmen and -women.
"Christmas is a special time of year anyway, for all of us, but most of us, having been gone at least once or twice over the last four to five years, the holidays take on a new meaning because you're a lot closer to your family," said Moore. "You know what you miss when you're not at home."
Kids also received treats and gifts from Santa, who is just getting warmed up.
