Armed Robbery & Shooting

Savannah Chatham police are investigating an armed robbery and shooting on Savannah's west side.

It happened at about 1:45 am Friday morning near 52nd street. Police said Rodney Adams was on his way home from work when two men drove up in a car, got out and demanded Adams to get on the ground.  They took his money, cell phone and keys, then shot him in the leg and fled.

One of Adams co-workers was on his way home from work and saw Adams lying on the ground and called 911. Adams was taken to Memorial Health for treatment. No word yet on his condition.

Also, another man told police he was robbed by two men in a car near Medding and Gould Streets just a half hour before the one on west 52nd street. Detectives are still trying to determine if the two incidents are connected and are still searching for suspects.
