Trucker Survives After Flipping Rig Into Marsh

An accident in South Carolina has people scratching their heads, wondering how the driver walked away.

The accident happened around 12:30 pm Friday on South Carolina Highway 170 near the South Carolina National Wildlife Refuge.  The driver of a tractor trailer ran off the road and flipped into the marsh.  The entire cab of the 18-wheeler was smashed in. The driver was able to crawl through the window to get out and walked away with a couple of bumps and bruises, but no serious injuries.

Luckily the driver wasn't carrying any hazardous materials so the wildlife was threatened, but traffic was brought to halt when the State Patrol shut down the highway for several hours to remove the truck from the marsh.
